Trussell Trust are being asked lots of questions about the possible impact of coronavirus on people needing food banks, and the support food banks will be able to provide.
In response to the Covid-19 outbreak, our service and operations have changed significantly to enable us to keep our clients, staff and volunteers safe, while continuing to provide emergency food to those who need it. These changes ensure that contact between people is reduced, and physical distancing is possible at all times.
We are experiencing an extremely high demand for food but reduced supply. Please ONLY USE FOODBANK IF THERE ARE NO OTHER OPTIONS.
We are running a DELIVERY-ONLY service, thanks to help from British Gas volunteers. Deliveries will be made on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to people in the BA1 and BA2 postcodes.
All our usual distribution centres ARE NOW CLOSED.
We are now operating an e-voucher system. Paper vouchers are no longer valid.
In order to receive a delivery of food, you will need to contact one of our referral agencies.
We need our generous supporters to keep giving via the collection points at all major Bath supermarkets, (now including Lidl). We are continuing to empty those collection points and distribute donations. The supermarkets are the only places where food can be donated, and as usual this must be non-perishable food.
Supermarkets require that the food you donate has been bought in-store, NOT brought into the store from home.
Organisations with substantial food donations can contact email@example.com.
If donating food in this way is a problem, either because you are self-isolating at home, or because of supermarket restrictions on how much you buy, we are very happy to receive financial donations which will be put towards our increased costs at this time.
We are so thankful for all the support we have received so far, and want to reassure you that we will continue to provide food to those in need for as long as we possibly can.
We would also like to thank all those who have volunteered in response to this crisis. At present we have no more volunteering opportunities.
