Welcome to Root Connections

We’re a ‘not for profit’ Community interest co., a community market garden sitting alongside a hostel for rural homeless, rough sleepers & vulnerable adults. So your veg order will not only keep you & your family fed & healthy – it will also go towards the great work of our community project.

Our seasonal veg bundles will change each week throughout the growing season. There will be a minimum of eight items & will typically look something like the following:

Contents:

  • Potatoes 1kg
  • Onions 1kg
  • Carrots 1kg
  • Cabbage x 1
  • Garlic bulb x 1
  • Salad bag
  • Cucumber x 1
  • Tomatoes x 6
  • You can also add Pesto & Cut Flowers to your veg order.

This will be a mix of organic & non-organic, grown by ourselves & bought in to supplement where necessary.

We’ll supply the veg in biodegradable carrier bags to protect contents.  Our pickers & packers will be wearing gloves & our volunteer delivery drivers will also be wearing gloves, whilst maintaining strict safe distancing protocol.  All our volunteer delivery drivers are DBS cleared, due to their involvement with our project/line of work.

We’re aiming to deliver within a 12-mile radius of the farm, with FREE DELIVERY! At the ‘check-out’ you’ll see the following zones & delivery days – please pick the one nearest to you :

  1. Mells, Kilmersdon, Holcombe, Stoke St. Michael – Delivery day: Tuesday.
  2. Frome – Delivery day: Tuesday
  3. Bath, Radstock, Peasedown St. John – Delivery day: Thursday.
  4. Stratton on the Fosse, Oakhill, Shepton, Wells, Pilton – Delivery day: Friday.
  5. Midsomer Norton, Chilcompton, Paulton, Westfield – Delivery day: Friday.

Please order & pay online, ensuring all contact details (mobile no.) are filled in – so we can call you should we face difficulties in locating your address. We’re unable to give time slots as we’re assuming everyone will be in & the cut-off for ordering is midday the day prior to your chosen delivery day.

This is how delivery will happen:

  • Our driver will locate the delivery address you’ve given us
  • Drop the veg at your front door & ring the bell/knock on the door/window
  • Move away to a safe distance/back to vehicle
  • Wait for you to open the door & acknowledge with a friendly wave 🙂
